Party Face Paint
Face Paints: I use only professional grade face paints, namely Paradise/Mehron, Kryolan, Wolfe, and Snazaroo.  They are all FDA approved and as safe as make-up.  I use a variety of brushes and/or sponges to apply the paint and often embellish with cosmetic grade glitter.  All products wash off easily with soap and water.  If washing near the eyes, it is best to use a tearless shampoo and a warm washcloth to avoid eye irritation.  Baby wipes may also be used but may itself  irritate sensitive skin.  Certain colors such as black and green may leave a slight hint of color after washing, especially on dry skin.  If this happens, just apply a thick layer of moisturizer for 10 minutes and wipe off.  Paint stains on clothing should be pretreated with a stain remover such as Zout and then washed in cold water.  Paint on clothing should be easy to remove.

Glitter Tattoos: They are applied on the arm, hand or leg and not on the face.  The tattoos last 3-7 days.  They are applied using one of many stencils chosen by the child or may be done freehand.  A medical grade adhesive is appled and then several glitter colors sprinkled over.  If a stencil was used, it is then removed and viola! a sparkly tattoo is left which may last from several days to a week.  If glitter is not preferred, black mica powder may be used which will give the impression of a real tattoo and is not sparkly.  The tattoos will hold up in a shower, bath, pool or ocean.  To increase its longevity, avoid soaping or scrubbing directly over the tattoo.  They are removed using rubbing alcohol.  Saturate a cotton ball  and hold over the tattoo for 30 seconds and then rub off.  Repeat if needed.

Balloon Twisting: Kids love them!  Balloon animals, characters, hats, games.....If gently played with they can last up to 2 weeks.

Pricing: My rate is $100/hour.    Bookings >4 hrs will have a discounted rate of $90/hr.

Speed: I typically paint 10-12 full faces per hour.  Depending on the balloon, I can twist 10-15 balloons per hour.  I am able to do up to 20 glitter tattoos per hour.

Precautions: I will not paint the face of a sick child but would be happy to paint an arm or a leg.  I do not  recommend that a child younger than 2 be face painted secondary to increased frequency of allergic reactions to any substance.

Insurance:   I am insured by Speciality Insurance and would be happy to fax you a copy of the policy.

Professional  Associations: In June of 2009, I started the Mid-Atlantic Face Painting Guild which meets monthly in Mt. Laurel, NJ- the link to that google group is below.  I also am a member of the Face and Body Art Association and have been instructed by Jodi Carr , Gary Cole, Pashur, the Wolfe Brothers, Mark Reid, Lynne McKay and Marcela Murad,  national instructors in face painting.  To find another face painting jam/guild in an area closer to you go to www.facepaintingguilds.com.
